EB-5 Program

The EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program, or “EB-5,” is a way to gain permanent residence (a green card) by meeting the investment requirements of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service.

First, What is EB-5?

Receiving a green card by investing in real estate.

The EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program, or “EB-5,” is a way to gain permanent residence (a green card) by meeting the investment requirements of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service.

Investors who successfully apply under this program can immigrate to the United States with their spouse and unmarried children under 21 in as short as two years.

Global Lawyers Group can facilitate your EB-5 application so you can take advantage of this faster path to residency and benefit from the company’s 10 years of combined industry experience.

The Basics of EB-5:

1. Who is the EB-5 Program for?
It is for international investors keen to live and invest in the United States.

The EB-5 Program is for investors outside of the United States who are willing to build a life and grow their wealth in the U.S.

2. What are the biggest advantages of EB-5?
Applying through EB-5 is a faster path to residency in the United States. Applicants, along with their spouses and unmarried children under 21, can secure a green card in as short as two years.

Family members can take advantage of this time to study in the country’s universities and explore job options, among other opportunities in the U.S.

This is on top of the profits from the investment. For multifamily investments, this means reliable, passive income for investors as they settle into the country.

3. What are the requirements to apply under the EB-5 Program?
There are four main requirements for applying to the EB-5 Program:

  • Capital Investment: $800,000 or $1,050,000 invested over 5-7 years
  • Clear Background Check: No violation of immigration laws, criminal convictions, and history of fraud.
  • Documented Source of Funds: legitimate source for your capital investment
  • ‘At Risk’ Investment: your investment in the US economy that will be retained until the submission of the EB-5 investor’s I-829 petition to USCIS

About Your EB-5 Investment

1. How does the EB-5 investments work?
The EB-5 Program takes into review the investment and the investor. Both should meet the criteria set by the USCIS for the application to be successful.

The investment must be at least $800,000 in a TEA( Targeted Employment Area) Project or $1,050,000 in a non TEA project, legally funded, retained until the applicant submits the I-829 petition, and should ultimately result in 10 permanent full-time jobs in the country.

The investor should be deemed clear of criminal convictions and untoward conduct, including violation of immigration laws and fraud.
The investment can be made as a standalone investor or with the help of Regional Centers like Global Lawyers Group. Both routes can lead to securing a conditional green card and then a permanent green card.
